Local Syrians weigh in on crisis in homeland
As President Obama seeks Congress’s approval for a military strike in Syria, local Syrians are weighing in on the crisis. Some say the President should step back, tand that’s not our business to get involved.
Mr. Obama says there is no doubt Syria used chemical weapons on it’s own people, and the failure to act sends the wrong message. The administration also laid out evidence showing the death of roughly 1400 people, including more than 400 children. However, some are not convinced, and have a hard time believing that President Bashar Al-Assad or his military carried out such an act to begin with.
At the same time, many countries fear retaliation from Syria if the U.S. does take action, including Israel. Others There say a strike could help America gain respect in the region.
