Labor Day Picnics Celebrate Labor Movement

Labor Day weekend is a time of celebration for the labor movement and Democrats.
The Democrats held picnics in every county on Monday.

Rep. Lois Capps wore jeans for a change while she visited two Labor Day picnics in San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara.

The Congresswoman was joined by her daughter and grandson at Oak Park in Santa Barbara. State Senate Hannah-Beth Jackson wore jeans too.

They were joined by a number of elected officials. They talked about the history of the labor movement and shared their concerns about wages and the middle class.
The picnic also gave voters a chance to meet to upcoming candidates.
