Shark sightings increase
A small shark in the near shore waters off Miramar Beach Sunday was one of several close encounters in the last few days.
Witnesses say the shark was not acting normally and hours later it was found dead in the sand.
They believe it was a four-foot long young salmon shark. Many people took pictures of the shark when it was on the sand.
Up the coast at Hendry’s Beach, sea lions have been injured and killed recently. Witnesses believe it was, in part, from a great white shark feeding in the area.
Signs have been posted telling swimmers to go into the water at their own risk.
