Great White Shark Attacks Two Sea Lions

A fatally wounded sea lion washed up on Hendry’s Beach Saturday and experts believe the attack was from a juvenile great white shark between 10 and 12 feet long.

A second sea lion was attacked by a shark but managed to find safety on harbor buoy.

Santa Barbara Park Rangers posted warning signs at the entrance to the beach.

Peter Howorth, executive director of the Santa Barbara Marine Mammal Center, hopes the incident doesn’t scare people from enjoying the beach.
