Fallen Firefighter’s Baby Son Born
The wife of local fallen firefighter Sean Misner gave birth to a baby boy, named after his Dad.
Amanda Misner welcomed Sean Jaxson Herbert Misner into world on Thursday. He was born weighing six pounds, 15 ounces and was 19 3/4 inches long. The news was posted Friday on the Sean Misner Memorial Facebook page.
Misner, 26, was a member of the Granite Mountain Hotshots killed battling the Yarnell Hill wildfire in Arizona. He and 18 of his comrades died in June when they were overrun by the wind-driven blaze.
Misner graduated from Santa Ynez Valley High School in 2005. He was the nephew of Montecito Fire Protection District Chief Terry McElwee and the grandson of the late Montecito Fire Chief Herb McElwee.
Baby Sean Misner will likely make many trips to the Santa Ynez Valley, where his grandparents still live.
