Earthquake Hits Central Coast

A 4.2 magnitude earthquake occurred at 6:16 p.m. Friday.

The U.S. Geological Survey said it happened 15 miles off of the Vandenberg Air Force Base coastline.

Earlier Friday around 1:05 p.m. a smaller 2.6 magnitude earthquake occurred in the same area.

People from Desert Hot Springs to Castro Valley reported to USGS they felt the earthquake.

Lompoc police Agent Cory Cox said nobody called to report damages or injuries from the quake.
