Local woman sheds the pounds for national T.V.

Ashley Hylton used to weigh about 300 pounds, but after starring on ABC’s “Extreme Weight Loss” she dropped more than half of that, a total of 168 pounds.

It all started when she auditioned for the show over a year ago. She told producers her story and they fell in love with her.

Her first challenge was to lose 80 pounds, which she said was the easiest. The smaller she got the tougher it became.

Hylton wanted to do it for her family, she wanted to make sure that she could be the best mom her 5-year-old son could have. That meant running around with him, and playing on the yard.

Now over a year later she has dropped 168 pounds thanks to her motivation and the help of personal trainers. Eating healthy and working out six days a week for five hours a day paid off.
