Atascadero police on the lookout for robbery suspect

The Atascadero Police Department responded to a robbery early Monday morning at the Shell Gas station at 8000 Morro Road.

The robbery happened just after 3 a.m. Monday.

Police said a white male in his mid-20s entered the station and selected items to purchase.

However, as he approached the counter, the suspect threatened the clerk and demanded cash from the register.

No weapon was reported and the clerk was unharmed. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the subject, who was last seen traveling west-bound on Morro Road.

The suspect was described as wearing a white-hooded sweatshirt, with black, checkered markings.

The hood of the sweatshirt was pulled up, partially covering a red baseball cap on his head. Police also noted the suspect’s tattoos on each hand with large block-style lettering.
