No charges filed against Oxnard mayor
The Ventura County District Attorney will not be filing misdemeanor battery charges against Oxnard Mayor Tim Flynn.
In early March, Flynn was accused of battery by a female student at Pacifica High School in Oxnard where he teaches.
Investigators said the student was wearing headphones and disrupted Flynn’s class during a quiz. When Flynn took the student’s backpack outside he said she used profane language to get it back. That’s when the student described the alleged battery as just a tap.
Witnesses sided with Flynn’s recollection of what happened.
