McDonald’s request for drive-through delayed
It was a full house at the meeting of the Goleta Planning Commission, with those who wanted a Drive-Through at the Camino Real Marketplace and those who opposed. Some residents had concerns over the potential of increased traffic flow from cars if the project were approved, while others felt that a Drive-Through is a much more convenient option.
The meeting lasted well over 3 hours, with owner David Peterson trying to convince Commission members that his request would be a good thing for the marketplace. But in the end…the commission decided that they need more time to address concerns over traffic flow
After 14 years of trying to make the Drive-Through project a reality, Peterson was understandably upset after the decision. “This is disappointing. I have spent almost $250,000 on this project. It’s just really tough.”
