Fair sees record attendance
The Ventura County Fair had a record-breaking run.
Attendance spiked more than 7 percent from last year.
Nearly 330,000 people went through the gates during the 12-day event.
While the rides, fair food, and exhibits are fun to see, fair organizers credit the popular lineup of free concerts.
The grandstand shows included country star Hunter Hayes, Hall and Oats, Kool and the Gang and Plain White-T’s.
James Lockwood said the 2,000 unpaid fair volunteers makes it possible to offer free concerts and fireworks.
The staff is already preparing for next year.
