Some Isla Vista residents go dry for the day
Many Isla Vista residents went dry today while a water main in front of their homes was replaced.
It broke yesterday.
The Goleta Water District had a team of workers in the 6600 block of Del Playa Drive to dig out the old pipe and lay down a replacement.
That meant water had to be shut off for most of the day.
More than 50 customers were notified and many residents took showers or stored water before the supply line was shut off.
