Missing Laguna Beach man’s body found in Ventura freezer

A missing Laguna Beach man was killed more than two years ago, with his frozen body stored in a Ventura County storage facility, according to reports from Ventura Police.

The body of Jeffrey Korber was found inside a working freezer at Ventura Mini Storage in the 3600 block of Market Street. Police went to the scene after being tipped on a possible homicide.

Korber was first reported missing by his Laguna Beach family in July of 2011. Police there did not find any evidence of a crime, and closed the case in 2012. Korber was living with a woman at her home in Ventura.

Police identified her as Mary “Francesca” Hannan. Detectives believe Hannan’s son, Michael Bresnak, killed Korber and got his mother to help move the body to the freezer inside the storage locker.

Hannan has not been charged in the murder investigation. Bresnak is in the Ventura County jail on a parole violation.

Detectives are asking anyone who might have information about the case to call the Ventura Police Major Crimes Division at 805-339-4441.
