Foresters fall to Seattle at NBC World Series

The Santa Barbara Foresters were not only scored upon but they were beaten at the National Baseball Congress World Series. Seattle scored on a wild pitch in the seventh inning to edge the Foresters 3-2 in a rematch of last year’s championship game won by Santa Barbara.

The back-to-back champion Foresters are still alive in this double-elimination tournament and are in the final six teams of the NBC World Series. Santa Barbara plays El Dorado of Kansas on Thursday night at 8 p.m. Pacific time in a do or die game for both clubs.

The Foresters had won their first three games of this tournament on three consecutive shutouts. But Seattle broke through right way with a run in the first inning on a ground out.

Trailing 3-2 in the top of the ninth, Joey Epperson ended the game by flying out with the bases loaded.
