Foresters move to 3-0 at World Series

The Foresters are zeroing in on a three-peat while the Blues live to see another day at the National Baseball Congress World Series in Wichita, Kansas.

The two-time defending champion Foresters have now pitched 27 consecutive scoreless innings as they blanked the Clarinda A’s of Iowa 3-0 . Keaton Siomkin worked seven innings of shutout ball allowing just four hits while striking out six batters.

Louis Lechich singled in Garrett Mattlage for the game’s first run in the fourth inning and Shane Hoelscher added an RBI groundout in that same inning. Colt Atwood’s run-scoring single in the fifth inning completed the scoring.

Santa Barbara plays the Seattle Studs on Wednesday night at 8 p.m. Pacific time.

Meanwhile the San Luis Obispo Blues stayed alive in this double-elimination tournament with a 9-1 victory over Valley Center Kansas. Andrew Lee picked up the win as they improve to 2-1.

They play the Wellington Heat of Kansas at 2 p.m. Pacific time on Wednesday.
