Bear found dead on Highway 154
Just after 11:30 a.m. Thursday, the California Highway Patrol responded to reports of a deceased bear.
The animal was found on the eastbound side of Highway 154 in Santa Barbara County near the Rancho San Marcos Golf Course.
Animal Control was called to remove the bear. Animal Rescue Team Executive Director Julia Di Sieno said this is a California black bear.
The cause of the bear’s death is under investigation.
