Solo scuba diver found dead at local beach
The body of a scuba diver washed up on a beach in Summerland on Saturday, according to the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department.
Deputies, firefighters and paramedics responded to a 9-1-1 call near the 3300 block of Padaro Lane.
The sheriff department identified the scuba diver as 49-year-old William Frank Grgurich of Portland, Oregon.
Beachgoers discovered the man floating in the water just before noon. They pulled his body to shore.
Official’s said it appears he was diving alone. The cause of Grgurich’s death is still under investigation.
