Former Gaucho pitcher arrested and charged with rape

Asheville Tourists relief pitcher Jesse Meaux, who played for UC Santa Barbara, was arrested in North Carolina and charged with rape.

Meaux, along with fellow relief pitcher Michael Ryan Mason, face two counts of first degree rape and two counts of a first degree sex offense.

The Tourists are a minor league team affiliated with the Colorado Rockies. Both players have been suspended as the investigation continues.

Meaux pitched for UCSB before being selected in the Major League Baseball Draft in June of 2010.
