El Desfile de Los Ninos

The 83rd annual Children’s Fiesta Parade made its way down State Street on Saturday in Santa Barbara.

Thousands lined the parade route to watch the floats, strollers, and carts pass by.

It’s organized by The City of Santa Barbara’s Parks and Recreation Department. Officials say there were 104 entries in the parade, which equals about two thousand children and adults.

Parents and kids create and decorate their own floats. There is one rule: no motorized or battery-operated vehicles are allowed. The route started at State and Sola Streets and ended at Ortega Street. At the end of the parade, every child got to eat ice cream.
