Lakey dominates in round 2 of US Open of Surfing

Lakey Peterson did not stay down for long. After a disappointing opening round at the US Open of Surfing,the defending champion turned in the highest heat score in round 2, totaling 16.76 points of a possible 20.

The Santa Barbara native defeated close friend Sage Erickson to advance to round 3 in Huntington Beach. Peterson is expected to hit the waves on Thursday around noon. The finals are on Sunday.
