Mesa sink hole concerns water officials
A slumping hillside near a Santa Barbara water reservoir is now going to be the focus of a geological investigation.
The sink hole near the Vic Trace Reservoir on the Mesa was first spotted ten years ago.
Several attempts to repair it have taken place, but the earth is still unstable.
Fortunately there’s no sign of any leak from the reservoir which can hold up to ten-million gallons.
The city is now going to fund a geological study to find out more about the land around the reservoir and possibly come up with a new plan to stabilize the south corner where the sink hole has been spotted.
