Vegetation fire near Santa Ynez Airport

A small vegetation fire is burning near the Santa Ynez Airport.

The fire started about 4:25 this afternoon. Winds in the area are affecting the fire fighting effort. Gusts are blowing in the double-digits toward the mountains.

Fire crews are battling the flames from the ground and air, including two aircraft and four engines.

So far no structures are threatened, neither are the roadways. No injuries are reported at this time.
