Graffiti vandal ordered to pay record restitution
A man accused of 1,700 graffiti crimes was ordered to pay the city of Oxnard nearly $300,000 in restitution.
That’s the largest amount known for graffiti crime in the city that works around the clock to paint over graffiti before it drys.
Josue Puga, 21, of Oxnard, was arrested in the spring.
Detectives became familiar with what some people would call artwork.
Puga was also ordered to spend nine months in county jail or a work furlough program.
