Applications now in for Santa Barbara County CEO position
The deadline has passed for candidates vying to be the next Chief Executive Officer in Santa Barbara County.
The current CEO, Chandra Waller leaves later this year. Her contract was not renewed by the Board of Supervisors.
Today was the final day for applicants to apply for the $230,000 a year position.
The county used the specialized recruiting firm of Avery and Associates in Los Gatos, to screen candidates.
The CEO oversees all county departments and reports directly to the Board of Supervisors.
It is not known how many applications have come in.
The board hopes to have a new CEO chosen in the next 90 days.
