Lompoc women killed in rollover crash

The California Highway Patrol is investigating why a car went over the side Thursday.

It happened just after 6 a.m. on Santa Rosa Road and Highway 1 near Buellton.

A CHP officer said the 24-year-old driver died in the crash after being partially ejected. It was reported the car fell 30 feet off the roadway. Officials said she had not been wearing a seat belt.

The were no road closures during the investigation. Alcohol may be a factor in this crash.

Investigators suggest the accident occurred sometime between 11 p.m. Wednesday and 6 a.m. Thursday.
