Pedestrian killed near McGrath State Beach

California Highway Patrol received a call around 9p.m. Monday about a man walking in the traffic lanes on Harbor Boulevard. Soon after a call about a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian was reported. A 26-year-old woman from Camarillo was traveling northbound when her Honda Civic struck Trevor Ray Nelson, 23, of Oxnard.

The driver pulled over to the right shoulder and waited for CHP officers to arrive at the scene. Nelson sustained major head trauma and was transported to Ventura County Medical Center where he later died. Harbor Boulevard. was closed for more than an hour due to the investigation. No arrests were made. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Ventura-area CHP office at 805-477-4100.

An autopsy will be performed on Wednesday.
