Dogs and cats may fear noisy fireworks

Animal shelters are warning people to take care of their pets during fireworks.

Many pets fear loud noises.

The Ventura County Animal Shelter is located in Camarillo, a city that is holding a fireworks show at Camarillo High School Thursday night.

Animal Control Officer Edgar Serratos said scared animal often run away. He recommends keeping pets indoors.

Make sure your pet has some kind of identification, too.

If your pet goes missing, check with the shelter or Humane Society in your area.
