Plastic bag ban continues to pop up along the coast

Unincorporated areas in Santa Barbara county are trying to follow the rest of the central coast in banning plastic bag use at retail stores. Counties like San Luis Obispo have already banned plastic bags. For the last nine months, San Luis Obispo county has saved the use of 10 million plastic bags. Shoppers are now forced to either purchase a bag, bring their own or go bag less.

Santa Barbara county has only been in talks for a similar ordinance. They are now waiting for a draft ordinance which will be presented in the fall.
