Crews prepare for Santa Barbara fireworks

A crew of about nine people were working hard to prepare the annual fireworks show at Santa Barbara’s west beach. They’re arranging the mortars, wiring, arranging the gun powder shells, and getting ready to launch 6,000 fireworks Thursday night.

The show starts at 9pm and will last about 20 minutes. Cabrillo Blvd will be shut down between Castillo and State streets. Food and beverage vendors will line the street, and two bands will be entertaining an estimated crowd of 75,000 people.
