Libraries offer cool comfort

You don’t have to be a book lover to escape the heat at public libraries.

Air-conditioned libraries are serving the public as cooling centers during triple-digit temperatures.

Inland libraries are likely to have the most visitors during heat waves. But Ventura’s libraries are welcoming over-heated visitors, too.

Ventura Community Services Manager Denise Sindelar said libraries are a great place to go when people are displaced because of heat or other emergencies.

Library hours often coincide with the hottest hours of the day.
