Bike owner sought in murder case

Santa Barbara Police have release pictures of a bike they say could be linked to a “person of interest” in an unsolved murder case.

Ventura resident Kelly Hunt was shot and killed on February 19, while he was on Olive St. near Carrillo. Residents heard multiple gunshots but no suspect was found.

Detectives located a bike at the scene and are trying to find out how it is connected.

“The person whom they are trying to identify is the owner of a bicycle that was left at the crime scene in close proximity to the victim’s body. The bike is a Spire aluminum 18-speed mountain bike,” said Police Sgt. Riley Harwood.

The police department also says anyone with credible information about the bike’s owner could be eligible for a reward depending on the details they provide.
