Authorities want to know if children were sexually abused at prechools

Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s detectives want to know if any children at two Santa Barbara area preschools were sexually abused.

Police arrested Paul Hultman Sunday night after the parents of a girl confronted Hultman about the abuse.

Five children, all from San Bernardino County have come forward claiming Hultman sexually abused them in exchange for gifts or money.

Hultman is in the San Bernardino County Jail on $1 million bail.

Authorities say Hultman is the ex-husband of the owner of two Santa Barbara preschools: Sherwood Montessori in the 400 block of North Turnpike Road, which closed in 2007, and Sherwood Montessori House of Children in the 5000 block of Cathedral Oaks Road.

Authorities say Hultman spent time at the schools until 2007. Investigators believe there may be more victims out there.
