Teen girl severely burned in house fire

Santa Barbara County Fire Department responded to a structure fire on the 4500 block of Edenbury Drive in Santa Maria.

Emergency crews found a 16-year-old teen laying on the front lawn with severe burns. She was transported via helicopter to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital with 90% of her body burned.

County Fire spokesperson said the fire is located in the Foxenwood neighborhood.

The fire was reported at 3:45 p.m. Tuesday and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
