Man arrested in connection with Oceano homicide

A man wanted in connection with a murder in Oceano was arrested after a 28 mile chase.

The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office was looking for Joseph Munoz, 35, since Friday after Joseph Padilla, 25, of Nipomo died during a fight.

Santa Maria police said they saw a car believed to be occupied by Munoz early Sunday morning.

The car took off and the pursuit went through Santa Maria along Highway 101, ending in Guadalupe.

Three people inside the car, including Munoz, surrendered and were arrested.
