Scarvelis wins national title in shot put
The CIF champion is now a national champion in the shot put.Dos Pueblos High School’s Stamatia Scarvelis threw a personal best of 52-1.75 feet at the USA Track and Field Junior Championships in Des Moines, Iowa.
Scarvelis not only capturedthe championship but she also earneda spot on the U.S. team in the upcoming Pan American Games in late August in Columbia.
Scarvelis beat outthe top high school performers in the nation andshe defeated some of the top-ranked collegiate juniors.
