Library kiosks offer self serve option
It is now easier to check out materials at three local library counters with the installation of new self serve kiosks.
You can find them in the Santa Barbara downtown, Eastside, and Goleta libraries.
They help patrons check out materials or renew what they have. The machines also accept fines if they are owed.
No jobs will be lost because of the machines.
“Instead of having one or two staff members at the check out, we now have four machines that can do it all the time. It frees up our staff to help the patrons to find books or other issues,” said Santa Barbara Library Services Director Scott Love.
