Habitat for Humanity building homes in SLO

Volunteers and Habitat for Humanity are building three new homes in San Luis Obispo right now.

The three families will be able to move in later this fall.

It is also women build week and several women are working hard to help build the homes.

“We’re here for Habitat for Humanity, helping them build these three houses and doing what we can to, you know, give back to the community,” said volunteer Karin Donnelly.

Since 2003, Habitat for Humanity for San Luis Obispo County has built 14 homes.

The women working on the project this week come from all walks of life. Some do this for a living, while others just decided to come out and help.

The homes are able to go up thanks to generous donations from people and businesses in the community. For example, Lowe’s donated $50,000 to this project.
