Paso Robles Bank Robbery

An armed man pulled off a brazen heist at a Wells Fargo branch Tuesday morning in Paso Robles.

A spokesperson with the Paso Robles police department said dispatch received a number of 9-1-1 calls about 9:20 AM that the bank at 546 Spring St. was being held up.

Witnesses described the suspect as a 6-foot-3 white man, weighing roughly 220-pounds and wearing a dark blue bandana over his head and face, along with dark sunglasses and two flannel shirts.

They said he came into the bank armed with a semi-automatic handgun.

After getting money from a teller, the man took off in an older model, burgundy Ford Explorer.

Witnesses told police the SUV was slightly lifted with off-road style tires, had a tinted rear window and a luggage rack.

An alert bystander got a partial license plate number: 4JXS or 4JX5.

The getaway car was last seen heading eastbound on 6th St.

No one was hurt and the amount of money stolen is still being determined.

Atascadero Police and the California Highway Patrol are also assisting in the investigation.
