Search is on for two stabbing suspects

Santa Maria police are investigating two stabbings that have happened in the city in the last week. They are asking for your help in finding the suspects.

Police are saying the stabbing at the 7Eleven on North Broadway was unprovoked and the suspect is considered to be armed and dangerous.

Police say a man walked into the store on June 7 just before midnight and stabbed someone.

This case concerns investigators a great deal because there does not seem to be any connection between the suspect and the victim.

The department is also working on another stabbing case.

This one happened yesterday afternoon on the 700 block of South Pine Street.

Witnesses said 31-year-old Jose de Jesus Amariba and the victim got into an argument and Amariba cut the victim several times with a machete.

“Either one of them or both of them could have been fatal. Just a slight placement, especially the one from last night. Those are severe, severe lacerations caused by this machete blow,” said Santa Maria Police Lt. Kim Graham.

Both victims in the two cases survived the attacks.

Police are considering both suspects to be armed and dangerous. If you have any information, you are urged to contact the Santa Maria Police Department.
