High school grads look to the future
Ventura High School graduates listened to classmates make speeches Thursday afternoon.
In the next days and months, graduates will make their own decision about their future.
Career mentors said the job market will always need young people.
Their knowledge of new technology will also give them an edge.
But old-fashioned networking is also a great way to find jobs and internships.
Cal State University Channel Islands Outreach Coordinator Vanessa Mendova said not everyone will be heading to college, but students need to know that higher education is an option.
Mendova was the first in her family to graduate from college.
Mentors also recommended casting a wide net.
