Bickford drafted tenth overall by Toronto

After an 18 strikeout performance in last Saturday’s CIF Division 4 title game, many experts felt Phil Bickford was a top ten draft selection. They were right on as the 6’4 senior from Oaks Christian was drafted in the first round and tenth overall by the Toronto Blue Jays in the Major League Baseball Draft.

The hard-throwing right hander led the Lions to a CIF championship as he pitched a complete game shutout last Saturday.
