Ventura murder suspect turns himself into police

A Ventura Police detective said homicide suspect, Cornell Allen Jr., 35, turned himself in to law enforcement officials at 2:45 p.m. Thursday.

Allen made arrangements with an attorney before he surrendered. He was booked into the Ventura County Jail

The fatal shooting happened in apartment # 130 on the 300 block of Hurst Avenue.

Inside the doorway residents could see a child’s car seat.

The Medical Examiner said he would not release the name of the victim until out-of-state relatives are notified.
