Pothole-pocked roads getting smoother look

Roads known for potholes are getting a makeover.

The city of Oxnard just spent about $4 million to repave Wooley Road.

A new $1.5 million project is now underway to repair Del Norte Road between the 101 Freeway and Sturgis Road.

Crews filled in potholes during the day Wednesday to prepare the roadway for resurfacing,

Most of the work will take place at night when there is less business traffic in the area.

Some of the cost is being covered by a voter-approved half-cent sales tax.
