Cal Poly eliminated by San Diego at Los Angeles Regional

Cal Poly’s most successful baseball season in NCAA Division I came to an end with an 8-5 loss to the University of San Diego in an elimination game at the Los Angeles Regional .

The Toreros broke up a tight game with a four-run sixth inning to take an 8-3 lead. Jimmy Allen’s two-run single in the top of the seventh cut the deficit to 8-5 but the Mustangs could get no closer.

Cal Poly ends up 40-19 and won its first regional game in school history with a 9-2 victory over San Diego on Friday.
