Ruptured gas line in Isla Vista

Santa Barbara County fire crews are on scene of a ruptured gas line in Isla Vista.

It happened after noon Friday near Camino del Sur and Trigo Road, forcing the evacuation of nearby homes and businesses.

Emergency officials say a construction crew accidentally caused the break.

The area is filled with a strong odor of natural gas.
