FLIR systems honored for work on Boston case
FLIR systems in Goleta has been honored by the city for creating the camera part that helped to locate the second Boston bombing suspect.
A chip made at the Goleta facility was in the police camera that spotted the suspect hiding in a boat, at night, using infrared technology.
FLIR was given a special resolution by Goleta Mayor Roger Acevas at Tuesday’s meeting.
The company is one of the most successful businesses in Goleta and plans an expansion in 2014.
