DP’S Evans pitches gem against Ventura

There was a big cat sighting before the game but Dos Pueblos sophomore pitcher Alana Evans made sure that the Ventura Cougars hitters barely made a peep as the Chargers rolled to a 10-0 victory in Goleta.

The start of the game was delayed by about ten minutes asthere was believed to be a mountain lion seen. The surrounding area was searched but the cat was never spotted again.

Once the game started, Evans pounced all overthe Cougars as she pitched a complete game two-hit shutout. She struck out six in the firstthree innings.

Dp scored all the runs they would need in the first inning which was highlighted by an RBI double off the fence by sophomore Veronika Gulvin. DP led 2-0 after one inning and 4-0 after three and never looked back as they improve to 8-2 in the Channel League.
