Students warned about drunk driving dangers

High school students got a grim reminder about the dangers of drunk driving Wednesday.

The grim reaper visited Oxnard High School for the annual Every 15 Minutes Program.

Students read obituaries in class and then saw a mock head-on collision on the football field.

Juniors and seniors helped act out the tragedy and then stayed away from their families for rest of the day, to feel the separation of such a reality.

It’s estimated that an impaired driver causes a deadly accident every 15 minutes in the U.S.

Oxnard police officers and firefighters helped drive that message home.
