Possible mountain lion sighting near Lake Los Carneros

Sheriff’s deputies and Fish and Game officers are searching for a mountain lion in the area around Lake Los Carneros. The possible sighting prompted authorities to send out reverse 911 calls to Goleta residents. Anyone in that area is being urged to keep their pets and children inside.

A Fish and Game official tells NewsChannel 3 that a Goleta city official almost hit the mountain lion with their car about 4 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.
