Fire damages RV in Goleta

A fire damaged a recreational vehicle in the driveway of a Goleta home this morning.

No one was hurt, but firefighters said someone had been staying inside.

The fire on Kamala Way was spotted by Santa Barbara County firefighters from engine 14 while they were in the district a few blocks from their station. They were on scene attacking the flames in about two minutes.

The fire did not extend from the RV where it was parked near a home.

“The occupant who was asleep in the motorhome prior to our arrival was able to do some fire attack on his home with a garden hose but we did have fire coming out of the doors and off the roof of the motor home so we did a quick fire attack,” said Capt. David Neels.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
